We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, integration, and optimization of customized hardware systems powering SGA’s AI-driven drones and 4D LiDAR sensors. This role blends mechanical engineering expertise with the hands-on implementation of AI algorithms on drone hardware—delivering real-time performance, efficiency, and reliability in the field. You will play a critical role in building the next generation of drone platforms that bring AI innovation directly into agriculture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize mechanical and hardware systems for AI-enabled drones and sensors.
- Integrate AI algorithms into customized hardware platforms to enable real-time detection, analysis, automation, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with AI engineers and software developers to ensure seamless interaction between hardware, firmware, and AI models.
- Lead prototyping, testing, and validation of drone hardware and AI algorithm integration in both lab and field environments.
- Optimize system performance for durability, efficiency, and scalability in agricultural applications.
- Document designs, test results, and workflows, ensuring reproducibility and continuous improvement.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies in UAV hardware, sensors, and AI integration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical and hardware design for drones, UAVs, or robotic systems.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithm integration with hardware platforms.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or embedded programming for hardware–AI integration.
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and real-time control systems.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping tools and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Strong problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
