7. Artificial Intelligence Software Engineer

Super GeoAI Technology Inc. (SGA) is a fast-growing geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) technology Startup company with offices in Saskatoon and Calgary. We are adding Artificial Intelligence (AI) team members immediately to either our Saskatoon or Calgary locations in Canada. We are developing GeoAI-driven products that will significantly impact productivity in the wheat production industry and have the potential to revolutionize how wheat growers around the world manage production activities.

Our artificial intelligence (AI) team is made up of three groups: data team responsible for data collection and AI training datasets, algorithm team responsible for developing and designing AI algorithms and AI solutions, and software developer team responsible for implementing and developing AI-driven mobile and web applications. The ideal candidates for our team are hands-on, dedicated persons who enjoy fast-paced development cycles spanning from research to production in the order of months.

As an AI software engineer, you will understand and implement the AI models provided by our AI algorithm engineers. You will work with other AI team members to build AI-driven mobile and web applications, and to build GeoAI-driven cloud frameworks for managing spatial big data in agriculture.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand, design, develop, customize, test, refine and deliver AI-driven mobile and web applications;
  • Write industry-ready software solutions that leverage artificial intelligence for image and spatial data processing;
  • Work with customers and AI team members to use AI to solve real problems in agriculture; and
  • Work with cutting-edge technologies for artificial intelligence and deep Learning.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong software engineering skills in mobile applications and/or web applications;
  • Strong programming skills in Python, PyTorch, Tensorflow, and/or other ML languages and frameworks; and
  • Experience in backend server and data-warehousing design and implementation is a plus.

Education and Information Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field from a premium institution.
  • We welcome candidates who received a master degree after January 2019.

6. Grain Grader / Data Labeller

The ideal candidate for this position is a data labeller with grain grading training. As a Grain Grader, you will work with our senior grain inspector to manually grade wheat kernel grain. You will grade, review and label wheat head and wheat kernel images on the computer.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manually grade wheat kernel grain;
  • Grade, review, and label wheat head and wheat kernel images on the computer;
  • Review, and correct our labelled images; and
  • Take proper samples and to analyse samples and to then make adjustments accordingly.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a High School diploma; 
  • knowledge of Canadian Grain grading;
  • Love to learn data labelling skills; and
  • Travel to Saskatoon is required from time to time.

  • Collect, process, label, analyze, and validate the integrity of data to be used for analysis and deep learning algorithms;
  • Explore and test various methods and solutions to improve and verify data quality to improve AI algorithm accuracy;
  • Train machine learning and deep learning models; and
  • Work with customers and AI team members to use big data and AI technologies to solve real problems in agriculture.

Knowledge and Skills

  • 1+ years of experience with big data or machine learning methods;
  • 1+ years of experience with Python or R;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
  • Ablility to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.

Education and Information Required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, computer science, mathematics, or a related field with focus in machine learning, or big data.

It is anticipated that you will join SGA as a full-time permanent employee following the three-year term.

The ideal candidate should have completed a Ph.D. in applied machine learning, computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, geographic information system (GIS), or remote sensing (RS) within the last five years (degree completed between 2017 and 2022). Ph.D. students who will defend a dissertation by September 1st, 2022, can apply for this fellowship. The ideal candidates for our team are hands-on, dedicated persons who enjoy fast-paced development cycles spanning from research to production in the order of months.

Our AI team is made up of three groups: a data team responsible for data collection and AI training datasets, an algorithm team responsible for developing and designing AI algorithms and AI solutions, and a software developer team responsible for implementing and developing AI-driven mobile and web applications. You can be either an AI algorithm engineer or an AI software developer.   • Research and evaluate a variety of software products;

  • Develop working prototypes of algorithms, evaluate, and compare metrics based on real-world datasets;

Knowledge and Skills

  • Deep understanding of statistics and experience with machine learning algorithms;
  • Strong programming skills in Python, PyTorch, Tensorflow and/or other ML languages and frameworks;
  • Experience working with open-source machine learning and computer vision libraries; and
  • 1+ years of experience developing machine learning models in an applied setting is preferred.

Education and Information Required

Qualifications
