Senior Mechanical Engineer (1)

Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer (1)

Location: Saskatoon

Company: Super GeoAI Technology Inc.

Build the Next Generation of AI-Enabled Drone Hardware

Super GeoAI Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, integration, prototyping, and optimization of customized hardware systems that power our AI-driven drones and 4D LiDAR sensing platforms.

This role combines strong mechanical engineering expertise with hands-on experience in drone hardware development, sensor integration, rapid prototyping, and field validation. You will play a critical role in building next-generation drone and sensing platforms that bring AI innovation directly into real-world agricultural applications.

You will work closely with AI engineers, software developers, and product teams to create reliable, efficient, and field-ready systems that support advanced data collection and intelligent decision-making in agriculture and geospatial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems, payload structures, enclosures, mounts, and supporting hardware for AI-enabled drones, LiDAR devices, and sensing platforms.
  • Design and 3D print prototypes for drone payloads, sensor housings, mounting systems, and related hardware components.
  • Lead prototyping, assembly, testing, validation, and iterative improvement of drone hardware in both laboratory and field environments.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers and software developers to ensure effective integration between hardware, firmware, sensors, and AI models.
  • Support the development of reliable, high-performance systems for field deployment, with a focus on durability, safety, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Evaluate and improve system performance through structured testing, troubleshooting, and mechanical redesign where needed.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in UAV platforms, sensors, LiDAR systems, embedded hardware, and AI-integrated mechanical systems.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation, including design files, test results, assembly procedures, and engineering workflows, to support reproducibility and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and prototype iteration.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design and hardware development for drones, UAVs, robotic systems, or related electromechanical platforms.
  • Proficiency with CAD and mechanical design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with sensors, actuators, mechanical assemblies, and real-time control systems.
  • Experience with drone payload integration, sensor mounting, enclosure design, vibration reduction, or field hardware optimization is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience in drones, robotics, or related hardware systems is considered a strong asset.

Cover Letter Requirements

Please submit your resume and a cover letter describing your qualifications, technical experience, and interest in this position. Your cover letter should clearly address the following questions:

  • What experience do you have with 3D printing, rapid prototyping, or prototype iteration? Please provide specific examples.
  • What experience do you have working with drones, UAVs, robotic systems, or sensor-integrated hardware platforms?
  • What experience do you have in mechanical design for payloads, enclosures, mounts, or field-deployed devices?
  • Which CAD software, prototyping tools, and fabrication methods do you use most frequently?
  • What experience do you have with LiDAR systems, cameras, sensors, actuators, or embedded hardware integration?
  • Why are you interested in joining Super GeoAI Technology Inc. and contributing to the development of AI-enabled hardware systems for agriculture?
